Apply to Become a Verifier

Interested in becoming an accredited verifier? Verifiers must meet the pre-requisite qualifications, must participate in training administered by the NAHB Research Center — either in person or via web cast — and pass a verifier accreditation test. The NAHB Research Center is not currently charging a fee for participation in the listed training sessions, but there is a $125 annual accreditation/listing fee for verifiers who have passed the test and met all other requirements, excluding execution of a Verifier Agreement between the prospective verifier and the NAHB Research Center.

All applicants should be aware that all accredited verifiers will be listed on the NAHB Green website; their names and contact information will be made available to any builder or other applicant needing green home verification services.

PLEASE NOTE: Submitting this form does not constitute a reserved seat in the training session selected. This application must be submitted at least one week prior to any training session to allow time for confirmation of the participant's experience and qualifications. Applications are taken on a first come, first served basis and applicants will be notified by e-mail of their session registration status.

1 year acceptable professional experience in home building and green building practices

At least 12 hours of acceptable green training

Designation by NAHB as a Certified Green Professional

NARI Green Building Certification from the National Association of the Remodelers Industry

Professional certification from Green Advantage

RESNET Green Rater Certification

LEED Accredited Professional Certification
