Interested in becoming an accredited verifier?
Candidates wishing to become National Green Building Certification verifiers must:
- Meet the pre-requisite qualifications AND
- Participate in training administered by the NAHB Research Center — either in person,
via web cast, or via self-guided online materials AND
- Pass a verifier accreditation test.
The NAHB Research Center is not currently charging a fee for participation in these
training sessions, but there is a non-refundable $125 testing/annual accreditation/listing
fee for verifiers who have met all other requirements. After taking and passing
the verifier test, prospective verifiers are also required to execute a Verifier
Agreement with the NAHB Research Center and demonstrate compliance with the
insurance requirements, as part of the accreditation process.
All applicants should be aware that all accredited verifiers will be listed on the
NAHB Green website; their names and contact information will be made available to
any builder or other customer needing green home verification services.
This application is for individuals only. If your company or organization
would like to have multiple people accredited as verifiers, please
contact us.
